ISO DRINK

INTRODUCTION

One of the basic preconditions of good sports performance is A proper drinking programme. Each sport - isotonic – drink contains tree basic substances: minerals, carbohydrates, and water. That water plays an essential role in human life is clear from the fact that it is the dominant component of the weight of a person; in muscle tissue, it is contained in 70%. Muscle activity, and related sport performance, are most endangered by lack of water; with water, also salts (minerals) disappear from the organism.

WHY USE ISOTONIC DRINK ISO DRINK?

  • Replaces loss of liquids caused by sweating during sport performance
  • Supplies mineral loss in optimal ratio
  • Supplies energy during sport performance
  • Partially covers even vitamin loss

CHARACTERISTICS OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES

Loss of liquids caused by sweating influences sport performance, starting at 2% of body weight (for an 80 kg sportsman that represents a loss of 1.5 l of sweat). Negative influences is reflected especially in long-term endurance performance, where liquids need to be supplied not just before and after a performance, but also during its process. ISO DRINK is a hypotonic drink (in recommended mixture), which makes it absorb from the digestive system very easily and quickly. Aside from water, it contains minerals. The concentration of minerals in Isodrink is influenced by the fact that with sweat, chiefly sodium is lost; potassium also needs to be supplied. Aside from these two basic ions, it contains others: magnesium, calcium, chlorine, and phosphor in such chemical form that allows optimal absorption. Sucrose supplies energy for sport performance, which is necessary with stress lasting for over 1.5 hours; its sweetness meets our taste habits. To reduce the feeling of thirst, it must be slightly sour, which is solved by adding citric acid. The higher the environmental temperature, the more important it is to pay attention to intake of liquids. The drink must not be too cold; best temperatures are between 10 to 12 degrees in summer and 12 to 18 degrees in winter.
